Basketball Stars is a one-on-one basketball game built for competition. Instead of a full five-a-side simulation, it gives you a single opponent, a half court, and one job: put the ball in the hoop more often than they do.
How to play
You control one player with the mouse and keyboard. Move around the court, chase the ball, and — when you have it — aim and shoot. The shooting system is the heart of the game: you do not tap a button and hope. You aim, then release at the right moment, and the accuracy of that release decides whether the ball drops.

How to get a high score
- Shoot on the rise. A quick release beats a perfectly aimed shot that the defender has already closed down.
- Steal, don't chase. Bumping into your opponent is slower than reading where they are going next.
- Fade away from the defender before releasing, not after — the block comes from the hand closest to the ball.
- Mix up your game. If you only drive to the basket, a human opponent will spend the whole match waiting for it.
