Fruit Slice Master

Arcade Games · Updated

New tab

Fruit Slice Master is the browser version of a game everyone already knows from their phone: fruit is thrown into the air, you swipe through it, and one careless swipe through a bomb ends everything. The rules take a sentence, and the discipline takes a lot longer than that.

How to play

Swipe across the screen (or drag with a mouse) to slice the fruit that flies up from the bottom of the display. Every fruit you cut scores points; cutting several in one movement builds a bigger combo. The only thing that can end a run is a bomb, and the game is deliberately generous about warning you: bombs appear in the gaps between fruit, and they are always slower and heavier than the fruit around them.

The board is portrait-shaped, which matters more than it sounds. On a phone the fruit rises into the part of the screen your thumb can actually reach, and the slice trail stays visible while your hand is over the display. That is why this is one of the few browser action games that genuinely plays better on a phone than on a laptop.

There are multiple game modes, so the format is not limited to one endless run — it is worth trying each of them once to see which shape of challenge you enjoy most.

How to score well

  • Slice in lines, not points. A single long movement through a cluster racks up a combo; a series of short jabs usually drops half of it.
  • Respect the pause. When the fruit flow thins out for a beat, a bomb is on its way. Slow down for that half second instead of chasing the last fruit.
  • Aim for the middle of a group. You cut more fruit per swipe and you finish the movement sooner, which means you are ready for the next wave.
  • Do not chase. The fruit that leaves the top of the screen costs you a few points. The bomb you reach for on the way out costs you the run.

Who it is for

This is a two-minute game that quietly turns into twenty minutes. It suits anyone who wants a reflex test without a download, and it is friendly enough to hand to a child — the only penalty for a mistake is starting again.

How to get a high score

  1. Slice in one long movement through a cluster instead of swiping at fruit one by one.
  2. Watch for the blank pause before a bomb appears — that gap is the game warning you.
  3. Big combos are worth more than single hits, so aim for the middle of a group.
  4. Keep your swipes shallow. Long drags across the whole screen are hard to stop before a bomb.

Questions

What ends a run?

A single bomb. Slice one and the run is over, which is why the game is about restraint as much as speed.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. Fruit Slice Master is built for touch: it runs in portrait and you slice by swiping a finger across the screen.

Is there more than one mode?

Yes, the game includes multiple modes that change how a run plays, so you are not limited to a single endless format.
