Car Sort is a puzzle about parking, patience, and the fact that a road can only hold so many cars before everything stops. Garages sit around the edge, cars wait inside them in a colour order you cannot change, and the road between them is the only place anything can move.
How to play
Tap or click a garage and its front cars drive out. Those cars now need to reach a garage of the same colour: match one and it slots in and disappears from the road. The catch is that the road is finite — every car you release takes a slot until it finds its home, and once the road is full nothing else can move until a match frees space.
That single rule is what makes Car Sort a real puzzle rather than a sorting exercise. You are not just matching colours; you are deciding the order in which to open garages so that the road never fills up completely. Levels grow more layered as you go, with more colours and tighter capacity, and boosters are there for the moment where more space or a fresh arrangement is the only way forward.
How to avoid a jam
- Work the biggest garage first. It holds the most cars and it will be the hardest one to empty later.
- Count road slots, not cars. If three cars are coming out of a garage, the road needs three free slots.
- Finish colours before starting new ones. Half-finished colours are what turn a manageable board into a wall.
- Use boosters as a rescue, not a shortcut. The game gives you a limited amount of space — spend it wisely.
Who it is for
Anyone who likes logic puzzles with an obvious visual payoff: cars leaving one garage and settling into another is genuinely satisfying. It is comfortable in portrait on a phone, and progress is saved in the current browser, so a level you half-finish will still be there when you come back.
