Fish Sort Puzzle

Fish Sort Puzzle takes the satisfying part of a sorting game — the moment a full set clicks into place — and moves it underwater. Fish float past inside bubbles, tanks wait at the bottom of the screen, and your job is to get the right fish into the right tank.

How to play

Tap a fish to select it, then send it to a tank that matches its type. Collect three matching fish in a tank and it clears, freeing the space for something new. Simple in principle; the interesting part is what happens when the fish you pick up has nowhere to go.

That is where the holding tray comes in. Fish without an available matching tank wait there, and the tray is limited — so a careless pick-up costs you room to manoeuvre later. The whole puzzle is really a resource management game: the tanks are storage, the tray is your working space, and the board gets harder precisely when your working space is full.

Boosters exist for the boards that look hopeless. Discovering new fish types and unlocking aquarium scenes gives the longer sessions something to aim at beyond the current board.

Playing it well

• Read the tray before you tap. If it is nearly full, only pick up a fish you can place immediately.
• Finish tanks, do not decorate them. A tank at two matching fish is holding a space hostage.
• Use a booster early enough to matter. Spending one at 80% full saves the board; spending it at 99% usually does not.
• Check the shop between rounds. New fish types change which tanks are worth clearing first.

Who it is for

This is a tidy puzzle for a few minutes at a time. It runs in portrait on a phone and with a mouse on a desktop, the rules take one round to learn, and progress is saved locally — no account, no sign-in, just the next board.
